This page shows examples of the veterinary certificates stipulated for imports and transits and (where available) lists of recognized countries of origin and approved suppliers.

Pig bristles (treated, untreated) must have been obtained from pigs that come from the country of origin, where they were slaughtered in a slaughterhouse.
Treated wool and hair (mechanically washed or treated elsewhere, so that they no longer pose an unacceptable risk) are not subject to a border veterinary inspection.
It is forbidden to import untreated feathers, feather parts and down.
Pig bristles: Annex XIV Chapter II Section 1 Table 2 of Regulation (EU) 142/2011 stipulates the following:
a) In the case of untreated pig bristles: countries listed in Annex II Part 1 of Regulation (EU) 206/2010 that were free of African swine fever in the last 12 months before the date of importation (see also (EU) 144/2011).
b) In the case of treated pig bristles: countries listed in Annex II Part 1 of Regulation (EU) Nr. 206/2010, that may not have been free of swine fever in the last 12 months before the date of importation (see also (EU) 144/2011).
Wool and hair: according to Annex XIV Chapter II Section 1 Table 2 of Regulation (EU) 142/2011 the following applies:
a) Untreated, firmly packed and directly shipped: products may be imported from any country.
b) Treated according to internationally recognized procedures for deactivating foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) (animals other than pigs): products may be imported from third countries that are listed in Annex II Part 1 of Regulation (EU) No 206.2010 (without guarantees A and F) and are free of FMD according to Annex II of Directive 2004/68/EC and, in the case of pigs and goats, are free of goat pox.
Lists of establishments in third countries must be included in the TRACES system according to the technical specifications published by the Commission on its website. The responsible veterinary authority of the approved country of origin is responsible for ensuring that goods for export are only approved from establishments that meet the requirements of Regulation (EC) No 1069/2009 and Regulation (EU) No 142/2011.
